This year seems to be the year of the animation with so many animation movies been out or soon to be released from Disney/Pixar, Dreamworks and now joining the fray is Universal Pictures/Illumination Entertainment with Despicable Me.

The promotion for this movie started about this time last year and for the UK release we still have another 4 months to go (October 15th) but the American release is only a few weeks away on July 9th. At first I wasn’t really getting into this movie but it’s gradually grown on me and throw in Toy Story 3 (out USA Last week) we know what to expect from that I actually grew more eager to see Despicable Me than TS3.

Last week I posted the 6th trailer for the movie and today we have a new TV Spot as well as a new clip which was posted as an Exclusive clip on Empire. In the clip we see our ant-hero Gru who is trying to steal back his shrinking ray from his nemisis Vector. Gru’s escape with his tiny yellow minions seems to go lala as hell break loose. The TV Spot is called fluffy, so what if the world’s greatest super villian was your old man, what would you think? The second half of the spot does have some unseen footage.

I am looking forward to this animation but we do have a little wait yet, so dont be surprised if an UK trailer surfaces before the release. Despicable me includes the voice talents of Steve Carrell, Russell Brand, Julie Andrews, Kristen wiig, Jermaine clement and Jason Segal.
