via IGN CBS Films have released a uncensored red band trailer for THE MECHANIC and you can check it out below. The movie is a remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson movie and stars Jason Statham in the pivotal role along with Donald Sutherland, Ben Foster and Tomy Goldwyn.
we’ve Been shown several trailers now for this movie and Im a little mixed on wherever to see this or not. Okay the action scenes are fantastic and Statham is perfect for these action-thriller movies but its nothing we havent seen before plus it seems he’s been typecasted into same roles all the time he may find himself like Van Damme, Segal, Lundgren constantly making run of the mill straight dvd movies. I was expecting a redband trailer but not 3 weeks before its release on January 28th, I expected this to have been the first trailer, blood high octaine plenty strong language a bit of nudity and the customary Rage Against The Machine Song (or any other rock-metal song).
So can The Mechanic bring anything new to the action table? or is it simply another no-brainer action movie plenty of high octaine scenes, blood and guts with a run of the mill mediocre typical story?
Vodpod videos no longer available.Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) is a ‘mechanic’ – an elite assassin with a strict code and unique talent for cleanly eliminating targets. It’s a job that requires professional perfection and total detachment, and Bishop is the best in the business. But when his mentor and close friend Harry (Donald Sutherland) is murdered, Bishop is anything but detached. His next assignment is self-imposed – he wants those responsible dead. His mission grows complicated when Harry’s son Steve (Ben Foster) approaches him with the same vengeful goal and a determination to learn Bishop’s trade. Bishop has always acted alone but he can’t turn his back on Harry’s son. A methodical hit man takes an impulsive student deep into his world and a deadly partnership is born. But while in pursuit of their ultimate mark, deceptions threaten to surface and those hired to fix problems become problems themselves.
