My ears are still ringing from the screaming from the Twilight fans at Comic Con despite been thousands of miles away in UK, Robert Pattinson‘s next movie BEL AMI official trailer has been launched. The movie sees R-Patz move from the emo surroundings of the vampires to period drama settings of ye olde London putting on his top hat and been ‘right dirty’ with the ladies of high society.
In Pattinson’s own words he describe his character as a ‘shit’ in a movie the believes will be hard to sell which we dont think is true especially when you’ve just spent several years in a franchise that has a dedicated fanbase worldwide who’ll follow their heros in everything they make. BEL AMI does resemble at times Dangerous Liaison’s, a saucy period drama which will get a few ladies hot under the collar and it does boast a solid support cast of Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Christina Ricci and Colm Meaney.
Bel Ami is the story of Georges Duroy (Pattinson), who travels through 1890s Paris, from cockroach ridden garrets to opulent salons, using his wits and powers of seduction to rise from poverty to wealth, from a prostitute’s embrace to passionate trysts with wealthy beauties, in a world where politics and media jostle for influence, where sex is power and celebrity an obsession.
BEL AMI doesn’t have an official release date just yet for UK or USA but it’s understood the movie will make its world premier at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and probably after that festival we should have an idea of its release. sourcePlaylist.
