First Image of the DARKEST HOUR Starring Emile Hersch

Another Comic-Con reveal here, the first official image from Chris Gorak‘s much delayed THE DARKEST HOUR and  Film Stage have been sent the image which you can check out below. The is produced by Wanted,Night Watch  Helmer Timur Bekmambetov its an alien invasion flick set in the heart of Moscow, it will be a 3D flick which is slightly off putting but Bekmambetov’s work on NIGHT WATCH / DAY WATCH which was Russia’s first big Hollywood style special effects movie it might be intriguing to catch this one out.

In the image we see Emile Hersch stranded behind a car in the heart of Red Square, but what is he hiding from? We’ll find out when the movie is released January 13th 2012 and the movie also stars Olivia Thirlby, Rachael Taylor, Max Minghella, Joel Kinnaman, Dato Bakhtadze. Below the image you will notice a viral video which is actually from the film’s viral site , hopefully this will be worth the wait as it was meant to be out September  and some are calling it 28 Days Later meets alien invasion which is a perfect description for myself to get excited about this as Danny Boyle‘s post apocalyptic movie is one of my favourite movies of all time!

THE DARKEST HOUR follows five young people who find themselves stranded in Moscow, fighting to survive in the wake of a devastating alien attack. The 3D action-thriller highlights the classic beauty of Moscow alongside mind-blowing special effects from the minds of visionary filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov (WANTED, NIGHT WATCH) and director Chris Gorak.
