More Dwarves From THE HOBBIT Revealed, Lets Meet Balin and Dwalin

If you admired the cast and crew of The Lord of The Rings Trilogy you’ll realise from the actors to the people who create the movie the list is endless, so when it comes to the actual cast of the 2 parter THE HOBBIT movie you know its going to be pretty much the same. The past week we have been dripped fed images of some of the upcoming movies characters especially the Dwarves and today we meet 2 more, Balin and Dwalin.

Todays image comes courtesy of Time and our Scottish contingent Ken Stott (Rebus, Charlie Wilson’s War) who plays Balin and Graham McTavish (24,Middle Men)  who plays Dwalin , both brothers and close relatives to Thorin whom he regards as his most” loyal and trusted friends”. I really do like the way Peter Jackson delivers to the fans feeding us with little bits from the film be it the fantastic video diaries or to recent surge of character images, it really works well if your interested in the movies but haven’t read the books and with the largest section of the cast coming from UK&Ireland gives the movie an extra edge of excitement too!

With around 18 months to go before the first movie arrives you can bet your bottom dollar they’re will be more images to come in the near future!

Dwarf Lords in their own right, Balin and Dwalin are close relatives of Thorin. Beyond this, these brothers are two of his most loyal and trusted friends. An old warrior, Balin has lived through hard times and fought many battles, yet he harbors doubts about the wisdom of the Quest to retake the Lonely Mountain. Dwalin has no such forebodings – his belief in Thorin’s leadership is unshakeable. A powerful and bruising fighter, with a natural tendency to distrust anyone who is not a Dwarf, particularly anyone who might be an Elf, Dwalin is not someone to cross lightly.

THE HOBBIT:AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY will be with us 14th December 2012 with the final part coming 13th December 2013 with THE HOBBIT:THERE AND BACK AGAIN. The cast includes returnees from Lord Of The Rings Sir Ian McKellan, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloo, Ian Holm, Elijah Wood, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving and Andy Serkis with new cast of Richard Armitage, Jed Brophy, Adam Brown, John Callen, Stephen Fry, Ryan Gage, Mark Hadlow, Peter Hambleton, Stephen Hunter, William Kircher, Sylvester McCoy, Bret McKenzie, Graham McTavish, Mike Mizrahi, James Nesbitt, Dean O’Gorman, Lee Pace, Mikael Persbrandt, Conan Stevens, Ken Stott, Jeffrey Thomas, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch , Aidan Turner, Evangeline Lily and Barry Humphries.
