The day after American Independence Day usually speeds up and we get barrel loads of new stuff but this afternoon has been a sombre affair but roll on the evening  as we start to turn off for the night bang it’s starting to come online so fast its hard to keep up! Below we have 2 brilliant tv spots for RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES released by 20Th Century Fox containing new footage to keep you interested in this new retake of a classic sci-fi franchise. The Special FX look great but have Weta done enough to convince us CGI monkeys are better than actors in costumes? Will Cesar speak? But most importantly Is Rupert Wyatt’s 21st century update worth the grain of salt and pays homage to the original franchise as well as compliment it or even eligible to be regarded as a worthy addition to the franchise? We’ll find out in 5 weeks time when the movie is released in UK&Ireland August 12th.

RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES stars  James Franco, Andy Serkis, Freida Pinto, Brian Cox, Tom Felton and John Lithgow with British director Rupert Wyatt directing.

An origin story in the true sense of the word, RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is set in present day San Francisco. The film is a reality-based cautionary tale — a science fiction/science-fact blend where mankind’s hubris leads to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy. Oscar(R)-winning visual effects house WETA Digital – employing certain of the groundbreaking technologies developed for “Avatar” – will render, for the first time ever in the film series, photo-realistic apes rather than costumed actor
