After watching the snore bore Green Lantern today I was in the need of some cheering up and what better way to be cheered up by a bunch magical puppets that were part of my childhood THE MUPPETS. No more smart funny teaser trailers (for now) this time as Disney have released the proper full theatrical trailer, no parodies just straight up trailer which gives us the basis of the movies plot which sees the gang reunite to save the Muppet theatre from a rich oil texan played by Chris Cooper. He want to bulldoze the theatre but the team join together with there biggest fan Walter (Jason Segel) to stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million which will save the theatre.
This trailer has arrived a little ahead of schedule as it was planned for a Monday release date but its here now and with the release not until February 2012 which is a long way away as is the American November 23rd I do hope there is a few more more parody trailers coming. THE MUPPETS stars Kermit The Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzy Bear, Gonzo, Animal, Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Rashida Jones and a host of thousands of cameos check out the official ful trailer below.
On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino house band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.
