One thing Terrence Malick’s TREE OF LIFE has certainly done is spark a debate which has left many critics despising the movie whilst a few actually enjoyed it. Now the movie has had a limited release in USA (before its July 27th full release) but there is still no sign of when the movie will come too UK&Ireland hopefully Focus Features will be able to release soon. It is certainly a confused dot com situation and when Rotten Tomatoes gives it 85% you wonder is the movie really that bad?One of the other main factors that has been confusing people whats TREE OF LIFE really about? The featurette below may help a little which has a look at the movies story hopefully it will help but there’s only one way we can judge something lets see the movie !
Tree Of Life Stars Brad Pitt, Jessica Chastain, Sean Penn and Hunter McCracken.
From Terrence Malick, the acclaimed director of such classic films as Badlands, Days of Heaven and The Thin Red Line, The Tree of Life is the impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950′s. The film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt). Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith. Through Malick’s signature imagery, we see how both brute nature and spiritual grace shape not only our lives as individuals and families, but all life.
