A few days ago we told you about Nicholas Winding Refn’s Pusher about to get a British make over in a English language remake, his latest movie DRIVE has released a cool first clip. The antcipation of this movie is electric at the moment and with Cannes Film Festival only 6 days away the festival’s hottest flicks are starting to release new clips, trailers to build up the momentum to entice the festival goers to check there flick out. Apart from looking a cool movie the cast for Drive is just fantastic, Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Christina Hendricks, Bryan Cranston, Ron Perlman, Oscar Isaac, and Albert Brooks. The movies story focuses on Gosling who plays a Hollywood stunt driver who earns a bit of ‘extra cash’ on the side by working as a getaway driver but a job goes badly wrong and a contract is taken out on his life. In this clip it focuses on the getaway driver part of extra services and this movie is very slick and reeks of coolness and if you love the old 1970’s thrillers you are going to dig this.
Drive is the story of a Hollywood stunt driver by day (Gosling), a loner by nature, who moonlights as a top-notch getaway driver-for-hire in the criminal underworld. He finds himself a target for some of LA’s most dangerous men after agreeing to aid the husband of his beautiful neighbor, Irene (Mulligan). When the job goes dangerously awry, the only way he can keep Irene and her son alive is to do what he does best—Drive!
No trailer has been released just yet, but the movie is due out in UK & Ireland on September 23rd and trailers for movies that month already going out I wont be surprised if theres a trailer for this in the next few weeks.
