Yesterday was THORsday (pardon the punt) as I caught THOR which opened on Wednesday in UK & Ireland, I did enjoy enjoy. Its not a oscar winning movie but a fun popcorn munching film doing what movies do best get you away from the strife of the real world. It is weird for myself talking about a movie which is regarded as a blockbuster before the American release, usually its the other way around, but what the movie may find hard to sell is that its one of the second tier Marvel Comics heros though dont let that put you off if you are a fan of movies of superhero’s as its fun movie plus I regard Iron Man as a second tier and we’ve seen how successful that was when it was released.
If you haven’t seen the movie yet here is 2 more pieces of footage that may help you decide, its a new Japanese trailer which does have a few new tidbits of footage and big screen time for Japanese film star Tadanobu Asano. Below the trailer we have a featurette that focuses on Jane played by Natalie Portman.
THOR stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Rene Russo, Stellan Skarsgard, Jaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Josh Dallas, Tadanobu Asano, Idris Elba, Clark Gregg, Colm Feore.THOR is in cinemas now but for American movie fans you will get to see the movie on May6th.
Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, “Thor,” which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.
