German Actress Antje Traue Set to Play Superman Villian Faora?

It looks like General Zod may have his second in command now as The Rite/ Pamdorum star Antje Traue is set to play villainess Faora in Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot MAN OF STEEL. According to  Variety the German actress is to play Faora not Ursa as last seen in Richard Doner’s Superman 2 but Faora is no stranger to the Superman world.

Faora is actually the divine inspiration for Ursa the character many believed would join General Zod  and on Krypton Faora was a serial killer who only targeted men and was sentenced to the Phantom Zone for three centuries where she survived the destruction of Krypton. She also knew a special martial art that made her an extremely dangerous foe for the Man Of Steel  to face in hand-to-hand combat which sounds familar to her character in Pandorum.

Here is what Variety also found out about Faora from comic book:

“the version of Faora that debuted in Action Comics #779 as a Pokolistanian aide of General Zod. That character was an orphan metahuman with the ability to disrupt molecular bonds, which allowed her to create a mutagenic virus that served as the linchpin of Zod’s plan.”

Faora has also appeared in Smallville and is known as the wife of Zod. If the gossip is true Traue joins a cast that includes Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon ,  Kevin Costner and Diane Lane .

So what do you think? Good choice for the part? leave your thoughts in the comments section.
