This week we told you a trailer will be coming, last night we had WETA reveal the special fx in a live stream and now Apple have done the honours and brought us the first offical trailer for RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES!The is the prequel to classic cult sci-fi fantasy series which stars James Franco, Andy Serkis, Frida Pinto, John Lithgow, Tom Felton and Brian Cox with British director Rupert Wyatt‘ (The Escapist) directing.
The question is, is this really a prequel? or is it a reboot? remake? The movies new name has caused a few headaches but the biggest headache to some was to use digital apes instead of the classic man/woman in a suit ape but as we know Weta created the apes the same way they did with Andy Serkis with Gollum in LOTR and that was a sucess.

An origin story in the true sense of the word, RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is set in present day San Francisco.
