Watch A new Featurette For Rober Redford’s THE CONSPIRATOR

Earlier this month we heard the great news that Robert Redford’s sucessfull and very popular Sundance Independent Film Festival is expanding and next year London will host the festival’s first UK (&European) Festival. Redford like the actors of his generation have proven over decades the great movies how iconic they are and are now spending more time behind the camera. We haven’t heard much from the actor for a long time but July 1st (April15th USA) THE CONSPIRATOR.

The movie follows the story in the wake of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, seven men and one woman are arrested and charged with conspiring to kill the President, Vice President, and Secretary of State. Only one woman is charged Mary Surratt (Played by Robin Wright) the woman who owned the boarding House that John Wilkes Booth planned the assasination along with the others and she is repersented by Frederick Allen a lawyer played by James MacAvoy.

Below is a new featurette which has a interesting look into the assasination in the movie as well as conspiracy. Its a interesting part of American history that does fascinate me and constantly your mind dives into the what if… theories what if Lincon wasnt killed. The movie boasts a wonderfull cast that includes Robin Wright, James McAvoy, Justin Long, Evan Rachel Wood, Tom Wilkinson, Alexis Bledel, Johnny Simmons, Toby Kebbell, Kevin Kline and Danny Huston.

In the wake of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, seven men and one woman are arrested and charged with conspiring to kill the President, Vice-President, and Secretary of State. The lone woman charged, Mary Surratt (Wright), 42, owns a boarding house where John Wilkes Booth and others met and planned the simultaneous attacks. Against the ominous back-drop of post-Civil War Washington, newly-minted lawyer, Frederick Aiken (McAvoy), a 28-year-old Union war-hero, reluctantly agrees to defend Surratt before a military tribunal. Aiken realizes his client may be innocent and that she is being used as bait and hostage in order to capture the only conspirator to have escaped a massive manhunt: her own son, John (Simmons).
