With Zack Snyder’s Suckerpunch taking a hell of beating with the critics stateside (here’s our review hot off the press today!) they pressure is on Snyder’s next movie the Superman reboot. Today news has broke that the movie has there Lois Lane and the actress to play the part is The Fighter’s Amy Adams who will join Henry Cavil who will play Clark Kent aka Superman along with Diane Lane and Kevin Costner who will play Superman’s human parents Martha and Jonathan Kent.
Snyder broke the news to the 36 year old actress via phone from Paris, France during a promotional tour for Suckerpunch according to LA Times, here’s what he said about it :
“There was a big, giant search for Lois,” Snyder said. “For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.”
Snyder refused to comment on the movies plot and Lanes part to the story , he would only say the character is a ‘lynchpin’ to the plot as well as been essential and he would like to present her and Clark in a mordern way:
“It goes back to what I’ve said about Superman and making him really understandable for today. What’s important to us is making him relevant and real and making him empathetic to today’s audience so that we understand the decisions he makes. That applies to Lois as well. She has to be in the same universe as him (in tone and substance).”
kristen Stewart, Rachel McAdams, Jessica Biel, Dianna Agron, Malin Akerman, Olivia Wilde, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and either Kristen Bell, Lake Bell wher all connected to the role but looking at the list you could say a number of the actress named are just a bit too young for the role and thats why Adams won it. Amy Adams as we know just off of her Academy nominated performance as Charlene in David O Russell’s The Fighter and will be next seen in On The Road (adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s novel) as well as The Muppets new movie but it was her 2005 Sundance Festival hit movie Junebug that got her the breakthrough.
All we need now is our villians!!!

Amy Adams suits Lois Lane well 🙂 I’m hoping that this reboot of Superman is better than the last one.
yeah she does, the character is more sospicated woman, inteligent rather than the generic scream at everything eyecandy characters
We thing she’ll be a perfect fit, actually. Just watched the Fighter and she’s got that Lois Lane quality minus the annoyance factor. Worst Previews’ latest report on the film is that Metallo will be the villain, which is fine by us. He’s a little more supervillain-y and it may mean that we don’t have to hear about Superman’s origin AGAIN.
I like this new superman. It seems that there will be a “mature” characters instead of them looking young trying to fill older people’s shoes. This seems like a good choice and I’m looking forward to the day when Synder puts it in theaters.
i’m so tired of remakes… why cant hollywood come out with something original for a damn change. superman? again? REALLY? *sigh* i probably wont even see it when it comes out on bluray, because i just dont care. superman was awesome when christopher reeves did it. leave it the hell alone already.
