After believing The two parter Alien Prequel with Ridley Scott athe helm was on the cards it was one of these movies that caused a bit of debate should there be more movies from the franchise. Then January the news broke Prometheus the projects title will be a brand new sci-fi flick with Ridley Scott confirming elements from the classic 1979 movie to be included in this moves especially the iconic Space Jockey.
The Space Jockey was first scene in the opening scenes of Alien in skeletol format and fans & critics of the movies have for years tried to figure out their origins possibly this movie may shed some light even though its offically to be a original movie as the unknown species is to appear in this flick. Sky Movies revealed today that a 8 foot tall animatronic version of the jockey wil be created under the supervision of HR Giger than man who designed the jockey as well as the first version of the Aliens/Xeomorphs and go further into the possibly origins a giant head will pilot an actual spaceship and that head is likely to be created using cgi effects.
An Sky Insider has told them the following:
“I’ve had further confirmation that the Space Jockey creature is definitely in Prometheus and has been built as an eight foot animatronic. I’ve also had it confirmed that HR Giger is working on the project but only in an advisory capacity. By the way, people are going to be in for a shock when they sit down to watch Prometheus and there’s an enormous semi-human head piloting a spaceship.”
As well as the actual film the speculation on who will or wont be in the movie has been quite extraordinary at times with Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron all set to appear in the movie with Monsters Scoot McNairy looking to join the cast for Prometheus which has a July 2012 release date.
