Three New Clips From Aussie Crime Nior ANIMAL KINGDOM

Next Friday finally sees the release of the much antcipated Australian Crime Noir Thriller ANIMAL KINGDOM. After following the movie via my two blogs throughtout 2010 I was so excited when Optimum Releasing got their hands on this whats like a masterpiece  if going what majority of the world who’ve seen this and this time next week the movie will finally been in UK & Ireland (February 25th). I will be attending a screening of the movie on 24th as part of the Glasgow Film Festival and if you entered the competition to win tickets for that screening many thanks for entering all winners have now been contacted.

To celebrate the release the good people at Optimum Releasing have sent us 3 spanking new clips. First up  Leckie’s Advice to J and Smurf and J Get Ready for a funeral show our young protagonist getting advice from his grandmother and police officer Leckie as his loyalties are divided between what’s right and standing by his criminal family. However, as red band clip Road Rage, Cody style shows, family life with the Cody brothers can be a dangerous place.

This movie is David Michod’s debut feature and what stunning start to your filmmmaking career and I will be shocked if this movie doesnt get the big boys of Hollywood checking out the new kid on the block, how many debuts these days see you get nominations for The Oscars and Golden Globes?

Starring Guy Pearce (THE PROPOSITION, MEMENTO) and the OSCAR-nominated Jacki Weaver, ANIMAL KINGDOM is a stunning modern crime thriller of brooding and brutal intensity. Masterfully directed and graced with outstanding performances, the film is being ranked alongside crime classics like A PROPHET, THE DEPARTED and LA CONFIDENTIAL.

Following the death of his mother, the young ‘J’ Cody goes to live with his estranged gangster relatives. With conflict escalating between his family of criminals and the police’s armed robbery division, J finds himself at the centre of a cold-blooded vengeance plot. As he naively navigates his way through the criminal underworld, he is forced to question where his loyalties lie as he tries to decipher who he can trust and who can protect him as he struggles for his own survival.

Animal Kingdom won the much-coveted Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
