GFF 2011:The American Red Band Trailer For I SAW THE DEVIL

Tommorrow sees the start of the 7th Glasgow Film Festival and its a movie on the last weekend Friday 25th February that Im really excited about (and will watch) Korean Revenge Thriller I SAW THE DEVIL. The movie will be part of the Annual Frightfest weekender and the movie will be shown totally uncut something that even Korean movie fans havent had a chance to witness.

The movie comes from the mind of Ji-woon Kim who has established himself  within Korean & Asian cinema with the likes of A Tale of Two Sisters, A Bittersweet Life, The Good, the Bad, the Weird and the movies reputation is also helped with 2 big names from Korean cinema who are also known outside too: Choi Min-sik (Oldboy, Lady Vengeance) and Lee Byung-hun (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, The Good, the Bad, the Weird). Byung-Hun plays a secret agent who tracks down a psychotic serial killer (Min-sik) but the killer’s last victim was no ordinary victim but the pregent fiancee of the secret agent tracking him! But the agent doesnt attend to take the easy route of revenge taking him out one go, he’ll toy with him giving the killer a brutal taste of his own medicine.

Since its release last year wherever the movie has played the critics have been lining up to praise it as its living up to its reputation a brutal, frantic dark exciting movie that takes revenge to another level, watching this trailer it does seem to live upto that repuation. I know people who cant stand foreign or at least subtitled movies and they are raving about and if non-believers are excited what about the people who do love these movies? We are estatic!

Below is the American Red Band Trailer and this morning I tried to post this trailer at the website but unfortunately WordPress the hosts of this website dont like IGN’s code so I had to wait patiently for some soul to post the trailer online in a acceptable code and here we are! Ill change it when a better one (minus the big logo) appears. No word on a UK release date from Optimum Releasing however American Fans can enjoy the movie when its released by Magnet on March 4th.

Kyung-chul is a dangerous psychopath who kills for pleasure. He has committed infernal serial murders in diabolic ways that one cannot even imagine and his victims range from young women to even children. The police have chased him for a long time, but were unable to catch him. One day, Joo-yeon, daughter of a retired police chief becomes his prey and is found dead in a horrific state.

Her fiance Dae-hoon, a top secret agent, decides to track down the murderer himself. He promises himself that he will do everything in his power to take bloody vengeance against the killer, even if it means that he must become a monster himself to get this monstrous and inhumane killer.

*Please note the above trailer does have graphical violence, Parental Advisory please  for anyone under age of 18 ! *
