Its bad enough when a loved one is sexually attacked but how could you bare your child been that victim? That is the basis of David Schwimmer’s new movie TRUST which has had its Offical trailer realeased by Millenium Films.
It’s a good 5 plus years since the end of Friends we’ve seen Schwimmer in various tv movies/dramas including Band Of Brother’s and a few years ago he made his directoral debut with Simon Pegg in Run Fat Boy Run which wasn’t what you would call a great movie. But now several years on his directoral direction has went the opposite way into serious tense drama with Trust which stars Clive Owen, Catherine Keener, Jason Clarke, Liana Liberato, and Viola Davis.
The movie made tells the story of Will & Lynn Cameron (Owen, Keener) whose 14 year old daughter Annie who is groomed then sexually assulted by a Paedophile man who online disguise himself as an 16 year old boy to gain the trust of Annie.
The movie premiered at Toronto Film Festival last September mixed reviews but then we only had a promo trailer which didnt really promote the movie greatly but this trailer does seem to make up for it a little. Its not the type of movie you would expect from a actor who made his name appearing regularly on Friends, its a very dark unsettling movie which sadly the past few years the core of the story has been happen too often in real life.
No offical release date yet for UK but for USA expect a limited release on April 1st.
A suburban family is torn apart when 14-year-old Annie (Liana Liberato) meets her first boyfriend online. After months of communicating via online chat and phone, Annie discovers her friend is not who he originally claimed to be. Shocked into disbelief, her parents (Clive Owen and Catherine Keener) are shattered by their daughter’s actions and struggle to support her as she comes to terms with what has happened to her once innocent life.
