Joseph Gordon-Levitt after his performance in Inception is up there with Johnny Depp and Tom Hardy. He has been connected to more movie roles than any other character and like his counterpart from Inception, has been linked to The Dark Knight Rises.
Outside the regular cast, Gordon-Levitt had been rumoured to be in the movie for a while to play The Riddler. It all began with gossip and rumours, but now according to Deadline the actor is in talks to star in the movie.
The talk is ‘will he be still be in line for The Riddler?’. Would Christopher Nolan be willing to have 3 villians in one movie, especially with Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle (Catwoman) and Tom Hardy as Bane? Though with Hathaway’s character only being confirmed as Selina Kyle and not Catwoman, it could suggest that she may not be a villian at first, but a love interest to Bruce Wayne which could leave room for Gordon-Levitt to play The Riddler.
So what role would you like to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt play? The list is endless, but do you prefer him to be a bad guy or one of the good guys; What about a Robin arc in this movie?
Over at Collider they heard that cinematographer Wally Pfister (who filmed the first two Nolan Batman films ) has had a chance to read the script and he loves it, here’s what he said:
“I read the script two weeks ago, and he’s done it. Plain and simple — he’s done it. It’s a phenomenal script. He’s still in the process of cutting it back because it’s a very long script right now, but it’s really phenomenal. And he actually had me go back and wanted me to watch, in IMAX, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight again. When I watched those I had read the script for The Dark Knight Rises and was like, ‘dude, it is a perfect trilogy.’ I think that was his intent, to work off those two pictures — and they are very different pictures. And it’s funny, we all had different opinions about which picture we like better.”
“Our goal is to shoot as much in IMAX as we can. We’re going to put in on the screen, and put it on the screen big. And I really encourage everyone to see it in IMAX if they can because we’re really going for it this time. In terms of the action, we are all scratching our heads right now trying to figure out how we’re going to do it; how we’re going to do it in the amount of time we’re going to do it in. The opening scene of the movie will blow your mind.”
