Brad Fuller Gives Some Updates on Freddy Kruegar, TMNT, Jason Voorhees

Brad Fuller  one of the Platinum Dunes producers has enlightened us all with a few sequels he’ll be involved in.A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot are ll projects that could be back on our cinema screens in the next few years and Fuller over the weekend dropped a few tidbits about them via Twitter:

“Lots of rumors out there. I want to set the record straight on freddy and Jason. First, let’s talk Jason. Shannon and swift wrote a great script. We are ready to go, when new line is ready. But as of yet, they are not ready. As for Freddy, as far as I know, there isnt even talk of writing another script.”

I dont know if its film studios getting a little scared the people who give the movies the certificate though it sounds more like the studio’s are thinking more on getting more moviey from the cinema goers when it comes to R (18) rated movies and Fuller is one person not thinking  about those movies:

“Rated R Horror movies, right now, don’t seem to generate interest from the studios. Everyday we want to hear from any studio that they want a horror movie, but it hasn’t happened. So right now we are working on a handful of films, including tmnt, and ouija. There is still hope for rated r horror, because it is profitable, but there is a larger interest in tent pole film.”

As for Horror comedies and reboots in the form of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, this is what he had to say:

“Since a few people asked, Monster Squad is being written and he hope to have a script in the next few weeks.”

“Tmnt is coming along. We are working On the script and I hope to have many more details for you in 4 to 6 weeks.”

So cowabunga dudes!!! Freddy doesn’t look like its coming to a cinema near you after the poor performance at the box office last year, A Nightmare on Elm Street was an unwarranted reboot that brought nothing new to the genre and sticking with the horror genre its sad that 18 or R rated horrors are virtually been replaced by the pound or dollar sign giving us poor toned down horrors that are merely money spinners. I dont know the fascination of reboots with hollywood at the moment I can understand movies that were poor in there day or didnt have the bite down to the special fx not been there but its down to the same reason again the Hollywood money accounts more interested in grabbing as much moeny out  our pockets rather than conecentrating on good qaulity movies.
