Trailer For The KINGS SPEECH

Here at The People’s Movies we love awards that have ‘The Peoples’ in it (for obvious reasons) and recently at the Toronto Film Festival THE KINGS SPEECH picked up the Peoples Choice award. Fantastic reviews all around from those who saw the movie and because of the positive feedback The Weinstien Company pick up the distribution rights and below is the first offical Trailer.

The movie stars starring Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter, Geoffrey Rush, Guy Pearce, Timothy Spall and Michael Gambon. You know this is autumn (Fall) as talk of the Oscars starts to creep back into the context and like virtually every year Colin Firth is a hot favourite so speculation is rife that he’ll be up there for the next Oscars. I think we can say the Autumn is going to be alot stronger than the poor Summer as already several possible nominees for the awards have released trailers recently, we’ll find out very soon.

The Kings Spech will be with us in The UK& Ireland from January 7th 2011 (tbc).

Synopsis: This is the story of the man who became King George VI, the father of Queen Elizabeth II. After his brother abdicates, George (‘Bertie’) reluctantly assumes the throne. Plagued by a dreaded stutter and considered unfit to be king, Bertie engages the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue. Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of an unlikely friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and boldly lead the country into war.
