David Goyer Deals With Warner Bros for Debut Novel – ‘Heavens Shadow’

The debut novels for writer/director David Goyer have been snapped up up Warner Bros Pictures in a seven figure deal according to Deadline. The  science fiction trilogy which will start with Heavens Shadows will be produced under his Phantom Four  Banner and the deal includes Goyer to adapt the 3 movies as well.

The First book is called Heavens Shadow and it starts with “when an object is discovered heading for earth. Initial panic gives way to a competition between governments to be first to intercept what they believe is a breakaway meteor. What the astronauts discover leads to an encounter with alien forces that are a threat to humanity.” mmmm? I agree Alien invasion anyone? I dont think we’re hearing the whole story here but that would spoil the fun of the books then films. Alien Invaders are big news thesepast few months and what extracts we have of this projects are very interesting simply because the projects such as Skyline and Battle:Los Angeles the aliens come to earth it looks like the first contact is in space, intersting!!!

Beleive it or not none of the books have actually been published and you could say Goyer used his movie background to plug this well to the Warner big brass and suceeded. Heavens Shadows isnt out until July 2011 with books two & three  Heaven’s War and Heaven’s Fall to follow in 2012 and 2013 with Penguin publishing the trilogy.

“It’s a perfect project for Warner Bros and I’ve obviously enjoyed a long and fruitful working relationship with the studio.”

Obivously Goyer enjoys his time with Warner Bros and in return there happy with what he’s brought to them especially Dark Knight Returns and off course the Batman 3 reboot script  with the possible rebooted again Superman:Man of Steel movie on the cards too.

No director at this point has been appointed as well exactly when filming , release date of the first movie will be, its assuming the release date will be after the first book is published which could mean 2012, 2013, 2014 release dates of the trilogy movies?
