The First Trailer For Darren Aronofksy’s BLACK SWAN

Share Share
The first trailer for Darren Aronofsky’s (The Wrestler) BLACK SWAN has went online and you can enjoy it down below for your viewing pleasure.

I heard about Aronofksy’s Ballet based movie a longtime ago didn’t pay much attention to it until the last few months probably through enjoying The Wrestler which refreshed my pallete for more of his work hence Black Swan. This looks beautifully terrifying which full of sexual tension as well as raw emotion and even though I havent seen any of Aronofsky’s pre Wrestler movies it seems Black Swan is a return of the dark pyschological style of his movies PI and Requiem of A Dream. You can see Roman Polanski is a big inspiration too with The Tenant, All About and his classic Rosemary’s Baby and visually techniques seen in the wrestler and even The Fountain make this an movie to add to your movies to see this year list!

The movie stars Mila Kunis, Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel, Barbara Hershey and Black Swan will be premiered at This years Toronto & Venice Festivals in September before it’s American release in December as for UK & Ireland expect more 2011 before we get a chance to see it

.Here’s the offical synopsis:

BLACK SWAN follows the story of Nina (Portman), a ballerina in a New York City ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. She lives with her retired ballerina mother Erica (Barbara Hershey) who zealously supports her daughter’s professional ambition. When artistic director Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel) decides to replace prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre (Winona Ryder) for the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily (Kunis), who impresses Leroy as well. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side with a recklessness that threatens to destroy her.

  1. Black Swan looks creepy, and actually a little scary (I mean just look at that poster), but putting Kunis in a main role is going to be bad since she still hasn’t convinced me she can live down her That 70′s Show days.
