Martin Scorsese’s first trip into the world of 3D Moviemaking HUGO CABRET has kicked off production in London andwith production started the cast for the movie has expanded.
The movie will star Ben Kingsley, Sacha Baron Cohen, Asa Butterfield along with Kick-Ass Chloe Moretz we also have Jude Law, Christopher Lee, Ray Winstone, Frances DeLatour, Helen McCroy and Richard Griffiths giving one mouth watering line up of different talents.
Hugo Carbet has been created & illustrated by Brian Selznick and tells the story of an orphaned boy called Hugo living in the walls of Gare Montparnasse train station in 1930’s Paris. Any time Hugo ecounters a broken machine or clock he will repair it, throw in a eccentric girl, cold hearted toy shop owner creating a fantastic adventure mystery story which does sound fantastic for the 3D! Everyone knows Scorsese is a movie fanatic, cinephile the story been set in 1930’s it ties in with the invention of cinema and one of Scorsese biggest inspirations in filmaking George Meilies!
The movie does see an old partnership reforming with Scorsese teaming up once again with John Logan whom he last worked with on The Aviator but also reuniting is various other crew from The Departed and Shutter Island. Scorsese did own the right to Hugo Cabret a way back in 2007 but in 2008 Chris Wedge took over the rights until recently they went back.
Hugo Cabret is scheduled for a American release in December 2011 with Sony Entertainment releasing the movie.
