January 29th (15th USA) sees the releases of Peter Jackson’s first directed movie in 5 years since King Kong (his previous, District 9 he was the producer), THE LOVELY BONES.
The movie is based on the Book of the same name by Alice Seabold about a 14 year old girl Susie Salmon who is lured to an underground bunker in the middle of knowhere by her neighbour and brutally raped and murdered by him. From heaven she watches over her family and killer as they come to terms of her death as well as they try to catch her killer.
The world premiere was late last year and has been a bit hit and miss with the critics possibly trying to protray one persons vision of heaven (depending on your religious beliefs your idea of heaven may differ) plus the fact the movie has been created by the man who brought Lord Of The Rings to the big screen so many critics have high expectations for anything he creates. Personally I try my best to have no expectations when I go watch a new movie and when I do have high expectations I’m usually disappointed. I am looking forward to it and will review the movie when it comes out (or maybe you can review it as well?).
There is an stellar cast for the movie with Stanley Tucci, Mark Wahlberg, Rachael Wiesz, Susan Sarandon, Michael Imperioli and Saoirse Ronan.
Below is 2 video interviews, the first was from Coming Soon (via HeyUguys) which has short interviews with the cast and the seceond one is a interview with Peter Jackson which comes from Collider and this interview covers the movie as well as a question or two on Lord Of The Rings & The Hobbit before worth a watch.
